If there was one thing Gregor would always remember, always treasure, it was the day he met the man he would spend the rest of his life with. His soulmate, if you will. Gregor was a romantic, soppy young man who believed meeting Remington that day was nothing short of destiny.
Dark, dry and windy, it was a day the young merman had genuinely feared for his life. He'd been hoisted out of the sea in a net and left to dry out and die on the hard, stony ground, guarded by just two half-drunk sailors eager to make money from his scales. He had struggled to free himself, begged them to let him go, and even tried to use his powers on them, all to no avail. All he really achieved was injuring himself further. So there he had been, hurt, confused, and almost certain this would be the way he would die. Despair filled every inch of him, fear, pure panic paralysing him as he fully realised he would never see his friends or family ever again. It was truly the worst thing he had ever felt, and there wasn't a single thing he could do to avoid it.
Then the two other men joined them.
The streets had been pretty deserted up until that point. Few people went out that late on the surface world, Gregor learned later, as the area was known to house vampires here and there who were bound to be looking for a meal at nightfall. These two, Gregor couldn't see them very well from his place on the floor, just their feet clad in casual shoes as they came to a stop before the sailors. The men guarding the merman both leapt to their feet, startled, one of them screaming. One tried to run, but from what he could tell, he was grabbed by the newcomer.
A few minutes later, both sailors lay on the floor, groaning in pain, bite marks on their necks.
"Man, that guy was more alcohol than blood. I feel sick." Muttered one vampire.
"Maybe we should be more picky about who we drink from in future."
"I don't know about you, but I can't be bothered trying to hunt down the perfect victim."
"Of course not. That's why you stalk the hospital."
"Shh!...Look, we need to go, before they get up again."
"Just a minute."
"Rem. No."
The second vampire knelt down and came into view as he examined the frightened captive. He was a beautiful man. Pale as the moon, milky white eyes and coal black curls. He ran a hand down Gregor's arm, and he couldn't help but shudder at the touch. Making contact with those eyes, he tried to make a plea for help.
"P-pl-please...h-he..."
He hesitated, thinking it through, before leaning down. For a moment, Gregor thought he was going to bite him too, but instead
He bit the ropes. Slowly began to bite through them. He heard the other vampire sigh in frustration, and then another pair of hands and teeth was working to get him free. Soon, they'd cut a hole in the net through which the beautiful vampire pulled him free and lifted him off the ground.
Remington carried him bridal style back to the water, arms looped carefully around him, trying not to aggravate his injuries. Such a gentle hold from a man who moments before had been sucking blood from a terrified human. Gregor actually felt safe in those arms. Secure. His fear, the panic from how close he had come to death, dissipated as he was held. From his vantage point, with his head nestled listlessly against his saviour's chest, it looked as though he was glowing. The way the moonlight shone on his face accentuated that beauty.
And then he was dunked unceremoniously into the sea, where he proceeded to lose consciousness.
For a while, Gregor believed he had dreamt his saviour. That maybe this Rem person didn't really exist. It was nearly a whole year later when he attended an occult party on the surface that he saw the beautiful vampire and his friend again.
Remington either did not remember that first night, or did not realise the mermaid he'd thrown into the water was his future husband, as when asked he would state the first time the two met was at the occult party thrown at that crumbling haunted mansion, but Gregor didn't mind. He had that wonderful memory of the first time his husband held him in his arms, of how beautiful he was with the moon on his face and how heroic he had seemed, and it was a memory he would forever treasure as he lay by Remington's side, the happiest he had ever been.
[So, information, Remington Dubose and Gregor Scruggs are part of the second household I ever made and played in Sims 4. They currently live in a house with their housemates, Felix Blackburn (an alien) and Isidore Herrmann (a spell caster), their two daughters, Genevieve and Isla Dubose-Scruggs, and Felix and Isidore's daughter, Trish Blackmann. For some reason I started thinking about how they met and my brain gave me the mental image of Remington saving Gregor from a net and carrying him back to the sea. Also featuring another vampire from their neighbourhood, Grey McHugh (no pun intended) who works as a doctor and potentially feeds off the patients.]
